Martin neemt op zijn weg naar Buenos Aires diverse klussen aan om geld voor zijn reis te verdienen. Zo komt hij ver weg van de stad, op het platteland, terecht bij de aankomende auteur Eugenio en beiden staan voor een enorme verrassing: beide mannen herkennen elkaar als speelkameraden uit hun kindertijd. Eugenio biedt Martin een halftijdse baan aan voor de zomer, om reparaties uit te voeren aan zijn huis. Martin aanvaardt in dank en vindt onderdak in een nabijgelegen schuur. Maar de sterk ontluikende vriendschap gaat gepaard met een zekere seksuele spanning tussen beide mannen.
